Antique Jet Jewellery

Antique jet jewellery was predominantly created during the 19th century in Whitby, Yorkshire.

Jet is a coal-like material, considered a ‘minor’ gemstone formed by decomposed wood for millions of years ago!

Jet jewellery is most closely associated with mourning jewellery because of its pitch black colour and experienced a surge in popularity following the death of Prince Albert in 1861 when Queen Victoria began to exclusively wear mourning jewellery.

Our range of antique jet jewellery is primarily from the Victorian period, and encompasses necklaces, brooches, earrings, cameos and pendants, so we’re sure to find something to suit your taste.

We’ve hand-picked all of our antique jet jewellery ourselves, so you can be sure that you’re getting a high-quality product, and a genuine antique with a unique history all of its own.

Whether it’s for yourself or as a gift for a loved one, there’s something very special about antique jet jewellery which we’re sure you’ll love!
