A beautiful, collectable, 18ct rose gold Mourning Brooch dated 1809 and steeped in English History.The plaited hair is surrounded by lustrous, rich creamy Pearls.Mousey brown hair is set under the glass dome.This person died 13th March, 1809 and the back is engraved with this date and the initials CC & FC - perhaps husband and wife?The Brooch is completed with a safety chain.Mourning jewellery is highly collectable and sought after worldwide.It weighs 6.5 grams.In very good condition it looks fabulous when worn.The dimensions are 28mm across and 18mm down - that's just less than 1.25 inches by approximately 3/4 of an inch.
