This gorgeous lapis lazuli cameo 18ct gold gilt on silver brooch/pendant is outstanding.The lapis lazuli is such an intense blue - it is beautiful.In ancient Egypt lapis lazuli was a favorite stone for amulets and ornaments such as scarabs.The cameo is a portrait of a woman expertly carved into the lapis.The brooch is silver with a stunning 18ct yellow gold gilt.The cameo can be used as a brooch or there is a bale, so it can also be used as a pendant - what a fabulously versatile piece of jewellery!The brooch/pendant is in very good condition and looks amazing however it is worn.It boasts superb workmanship and design.It weighs 3.3 grams.The brooch/pendant measures 20mm across by 25mm down - that's 3/4 an inch by 1 inch excluding the bale which is another 7mm.Old Code 1043
