An Unusual, decorative Art Nouveau Hatpin! It is shaped like a flower with pendant leaves, similar to the Iris. There is a rose-cut Marcasite in the centre, and the leaves are festooned with Marcasites. (Marcasites are formed from Hematite – an iridescent stone found in the English Lake District - Large pieces were once used as mirrors!) Set in Sterling Silver, the rod is also Silver, as is the protective barrel, which can be easily removed. It could be worn on the lapel for a distinctive and unusual adornment!
