A Beautiful and Elegant Riviere-Necklace festooned with Peridots.There are 72 olive green sumptuous cabochon Peridots. Each one is over ½ carat, making over 36 carats of semi-precious Peridots.Peridots are at the top of the semi-precious range of Stones. They were very popular in Victorian times, often referred to as 'Olivines' – a reference to their attractive colour.Peridot was sometimes used in Religious Jewellery. The Crusaders brought Peridot to Europe in the early Middle Ages, transporting Stones from St. John's Island in the Red Sea, where it has been mined for over3,500 years!They are in a Gold rubover setting for comfort when wearing, and arranged in very attractive and flattering V shape.The necklace measure 15 1/2 inches - that's 39cms.The bib measures just under 2 3/4 inches - that's 68mm.The catch is a simple and effective snake S making it easy to fasten on, and take off.
