This long French jet necklace is stunning.It is from the Victorian era - Circa 1900.The delicious black jet beads are faceted and sparkle in the light.The smaller beads graduate down to the larger beads in the centre.Jet is often associated with sombre occasions - Queen Victorian made it popular when she was in mourning for the loss of Prince Albert, but jet is also very elegant and versatile as jewellery - this long necklace would look fabulous with an evening dress but would not look out of place with jeans and a tee shirt.The necklace has a 9ct gold C fastener.The necklace weighs 67.4 grams.The necklace is 81cms long - that's 32 inches.Old Code 4581.
